MISSION STATEMENT

The Portage Center for the Arts is dedicated to the cultural growth and enhancement of those living in Portage and the surrounding area. Its mission is to promote and foster the arts by providing a community venue for the visual arts, performing arts and arts education. The Center seeks to achieve its mission by developing alliances between itself and arts educators, artists, children, youth and the supporters of the arts.

VISION FOR 2010

We will be a recognized agency in the community providing a broad and dynamic range of arts, cultural, and related educational programs.

• The broad spectrum of the community will participate actively in our programs.

• Our programs will be offered year round through multiple sources of funding and partnerships with community artists and organizations.

• Our center will be a state of the art facility fully staffed to carry out the mission of the agency.

STRATEGIC PLAN

Our Strategic Plan Survey (begun in 2004) has identified the following areas of development.  Action Teams have been developed to address many issues, including those listed under each area.
